Jarrett, by Kathi S. Barton

Addison Parker is on the run. No matter how fast she runs, or how far she travels she can't hide from herself, or the gift she's been cursed with. She can read people's minds and with a touch can see into their future. That is a secret that she has learned to keep well―everyone always wanted something from her when they learned what she could do. It's easier to avoid people all together. Jarrett Emerson is just helping his dad and brother protect an innocent from a perverted wretch. But when a falling brick knocks Addie unconscious, she falls right into Jarrett's arms. To his surprise he realizes that she is his mate and human... Addie felt stupid standing there like she was and moved to the sink. Jarrett watched her before he reached for a second glass. Addie had no idea why, but she thought he was nervous. "I'm not going to pounce on you." As soon as the words left her mouth, she knew that she'd made a major mistake. He turned so quickly that she backed up and hit her ass on the counter behind her. He didn't stop there but took the two more steps to have her leaning back to look up at him. "I'd like nothing more than to have you pounce on me." His voice was a soft growl that had her thinking all sorts of things that had nothing to do with food. "You're very beautiful." "No, I'm not." He nodded and halved the distance between them. "You're too close. I can't think when you're this close." Jarrett doesn't want her to leave. If she goes, he goes with her. That's the way it is with mates. But when a corrupt attorney has other ideas, the Emersons have to regroup to protect what they now consider their own....

Another excellent story
By Amazon Customer
I am a fan of Ms. Barton's books, and try to read new releases as soon as they come out. Jarrett's story was worth the wait. Normally, angst filled stories do not appeal to me, but having some experience of trying to interact with someone I cared about who had severe depression made a a little more understanding. All in all, I think this book is very well written. It held my attention from the first page, without any lags, and made me more eager to read future stories.

I love the way Kathi tells a story.
By Elizabeth E Neal
Every time I open a Kathi S. Barton book, I know I'm in for a good read. It's why she's one of my favorites. Jarrett's book was so good. We meet Addison, aka Addie, as she's traveling around trying to outrun her problems. Of course, emotional problems follow you everywhere and we learn her Dad died and it understandably turned her whole world upside down. Addie is emotionally broken due to her grief and guilt, plus she just knows things which also adds to her inner turmoil. Her path crosses with Cash, Jarrett's Dad. I love Cash. He has such a big heart and senses that Addie is struggling and believes she will intentionally hurt herself. When her and Jarrett meet, he knows they're mates and starts getting to know Addie. Jarrett is so understanding and patient as he learns more about what Addie needs and struggles with on a daily basis. The way Kathi described Addie's state of mind was so heartwrenching. The strength that one must have when that is going on inside you is amazing to me. To see Jarrett show her time after time that they're in this together was such a beautiful thing. I highly recommend this whole series in order. It is so good and I can't wait for Ellis's book. We got a glimpse of what's in store for him and I'm so excited to see how it plays out.

Another great book by Kathi S Barton

Another great book by Kathi S Barton. We start out meeting Addie who is running away from her past. She can read minds and when she touches you she can see your future. For this reason she tries to avoid everyone. Her father dies and she is on her own with the guilt of her father's death.

Jarrett meets Addie when his dad and brother protect her from someone who is trying to hurt her. When she is knocked out by a falling brick Jarrett catches her and instantly knows that she is his mate and human. Addie wants to die but of course Jarrett and his family won't let her.

An absolute must read and would recommend to everyone.
