Refreshing honesty!

If you want an insider's understanding of such topics as getting through a religious upbringing, through medical school, through Vietnam, and through life's curve balls, this is a totally realistic and refreshingly honest book. You may not like everything the author believes, but you will IDENTIFY with it. As a Vietnam veteran, theologist, medical doctor and cancer survivor, what is truly amazing is the author's ability to change gears when you least expect it - from educational to cynical, humorous to inspiring. And, it is well written throughout!

I am so glad that I bought this book. I was planning to Trek in Nepal. I did not realize how extensive the earthquake damage was. The book clearly states which trails and which areas were affected by the earthquake.

Gorgeous tribute to the iconic brand

As BMW's Maximilian Schoberl says in the book's intro, a strong brand doesn't merely have customers, it also has fans. This beautiful book is aimed right into the hearts of those fans.

The magnificent pictures and succinct, pithy text chronicle each aspect of the brand's history. Foremost, of course, are the cars, from the 1930's-era 328 to its modern-day grandchild, the 328 Hommage, with every kidney-grille'd classic in between. The book gives equal time to the motorcycles, as well as the brand's vast legacy in competitive racing, and also to the mind-blowing concept cars leading the way into the future, including the shape-shifting, flexible-skinned Gina. There's even a chapter on architecture, including the gravity-defying "Four-Cylinder" BMW Group Headquarters building in Munich, reminding the reader that BMW isn't merely a car company, but more fully a design company, among the most (or perhaps THE most) technology-forward in the world.

Great for BMW Enthusiasts!

This book I purchased for boyfriend for his birthday. He thought it was great. The book has many beautiful photos and is very well put together. It is also in 3 languages so as long as that doesn't bother you, it's great overall. This book is a great gift for any BMW enthusiasts.

Surface Treatment

This is a beautifully printed and laid out book. The printing and paper are absolutely stunning - truly the fine art of fine book publishing that is so hard to find. The book is a large coffee table book. It weighs a ton.

I wish the content was more focused or better. The book seems to scratch the surface of everything BMW and never gets into anything deep with any of the models. Even with the surface treatment, they left off BMW airplanes. The book would have better focusing on several key things or do a real live full cross section of the maker's history.

The book felt like an appetizer and left me hungry for more. The pictures are pretty. The book is well made. I just wish it had more depth.
